After all it has to be said that this is one of the cars
which is most successfull in Formula 1 championship, aldough this was Formula 2
car because that year world chapionship races were held as Formula 2
chapionship. This car has won two world title for Italian driver Alberto
Ascari, which is behind the steringwheel of this model in 1/43 scale.
nekoliko komponenti, lijepo sklopljene.
Britanije.
As most of models I have, this one I also posses in few
different liveries and versions, from three manufacturers. In general, this
Quartzo is the best of those four. Of course I should mention that I don't have
models with price tag of few hundred Euros, but those with lower price of few
dozen Euros. In this category of middle price range models I would say the
Quartzo is a great model, and I only have words of praise. Tires on the model
are fantastic, very nicely done, and those materials represent the real tire
very good. Flaw would be the thing that those lack insignia of tire
manufacturer on both sides of them. The wheels are well made, from photo etched
metal. These have few (I would say at least four) components, with joints of good
quality. This detail is important specially if you know this is an older model,
made four to five years ago. Next thing that really pops up at first glance is
driver figure behind the steering wheel , especially if you know that only
Brumm makes them with figure these days. If I wanted to be malicious I should
say that the driver figure is not detailed enough, that placing of arms is not
correct, that material is not really great and doesn’t reflect original as
well, but there’s no need for that. The figure is “flawless”, and it’s really
superb. Engine detailing in this scale model is fantastic, I am amused how
nicely it is done. Engine cover stands on spare tires and all in all the model
is superb. I will gladly list the positive attributes of this model even though
it has few flaws which I will talk about later. The paint on the car is great,
decals are flawless, with impeccable placement and size. Decals are nicely
representing a car that won GP Great
Britain in 1953 in Silverstone.
Now is the time to write about a pair of flaws. There are
really just pair of them, so first is the engine cover which doesn’t exactly
fit the engine, of course this is 1/43 scale model, and it’s Quartzo, not some
high price handmade model (but just to say, those handmade models are not that
often accurate and detailed, and their price is result of limited editions and
hours off manual labour) but that detail could be better. Second flaw would be
the grill on front intake opening, it really could be from photo etched material,
and with that little thing this model could be very close to perfection.
Anyways if that was correctly done, I would probably find some another detail
that is not done properly, because there is no perfection.
After
all, the model is outstanding without major flaws, with paid price of 25 Euros
is a great buy, and everyone who has a chance to buy it for that amount of
money, should immediately buy one. Especially because these are not in
production anymore, and only Brumm makes models with driver figurines inside a
car. This is only appliable for Mint In
Box (MIB) models.
