Lamborghini Miura, 1/43 DelPrado

This is by far one of the most iconic supercars of all time. Many would say that it is one of the most beautiful, but I wouldn’t, I have some favorites of mine. Not a fan of Lambos, but this one is definitely hard not to love.  This is a scale model made by DelPrado, and I had doubts about this one. That is one of the reasons why I bought it and I have to say, I have no regrets.

A new text is here after few days. Sorry for that, I have lot of things to do these days… Today we have navy blue Ferrari which is… well I am not sure probably it’s 250MM, or maybe 166MM Berlinetta, or even both. This is resin model, and I have only couple of these so I bought this one no matter, and I got something weird it is a mix between 250MM and 166MM Berlinetta. It cost only 13 Euros, and it was a lesson, not en expensive one at least.
First a little bit about resin. It’s new material which is more popular every day among manufacturers. With resin come lot of problems, like the one with thin elements which are not firm enough and they deform with ease during time. Also it is a very fragile material, which is problematic when falls. In 1/18 scales and larger is almost no good because the models can’t have any functioning opening, doors, bonnets and so on. How it will behave during time no one knows because it is relatively new and it is not possible to test it. Positive thing is the fact that molds are easily made so modifications on a model are more feasible. For example same car on a few different races during the season had different parts. On a simple die cast metal mold it was too expensive and impossible to create those differences. We can take some GT40 car which in few races had different air inlets, in resin it is possible to make those modifications because of the molds. The mold for resin has much smaller durability and it lasts only for (I am not hundred percent sure) few hundred injections, so it is more possible to make smaller modifications on these. While in classic die cast metal models the molds for them are more rigid and these types of modifications are impossible. On the other hand this way of producing models is a little bit more expensive, well just a “little”.

2 x Ferrari, 1/43 Onyx

Danas manje priče, a više fotografija.

Orange Koenigssegg is a nice model. I am sorry for a fact that I don’t own it any more. Although it is a very interesting model. This is not that common, especially in this color. This is so called magazine model. These are model made by some manufacturer for some publishing company. In this case it is Ixo who made it for Altaya which is Spanish publisher of magazines. These models cam make some misunderstandings among collectors, so the real question here is what have I bought?

Mercedes Benz S600, 1/43 Schabak

Schabak is German manufacturer of scale model cars, and it is very popular among the collectors of German cars. Why? Well because in small scale like this it has openings. Simply because of that. Of course this is manufacturer which made a lot of different German cars with a variety of models with fair prices, also helps with the popularity of this manufacturer. As far as I know the Schabak does not produce models any more, but if anyone knows something about that please let me know in comments below.
Now, a little about this model. It is very fine one. For me Schabak has that charm, because of the openings it is a lot more interesting. But in difference from Brumm models, I wrote a text about those in some posts before, it has the feel of the German made thing if you know what I want to say. I have a few models in 1/43 with functioning doors and that stuff but this is really special for small clearance. Only some Herpa Ferrari models have smaller clearance than this one, but those Herpa models are made of plastic and that provides on them to have almost no clearance. The paint on the model is fine, is some kind of metallic gray with elements of blue color. Only flaw I found is the granulation of metallic speckles is bigger than it should be. Because of that model looks like a 1/43 scale and does not give that “maybe it is” 1/24 or larger scale model on photos.  Specially great detail is the thing that metal on the openings is really thin and the model due to that looks much better. So that would be all about metal parts of the model, and the conclusion is: paint is fine, molding is good, dimension and proportions are great, thickness of the metal is good, so all in all everything is good.

Shelby Mustang GT500 Eleanor, 1/24 Yat Ming

Now something a little bit of topic. This definitely is a model, but it is not 1/43 scale but it’s 1/24. This scale is not that popular and, is not considered true collectors scale. However this is fine model, it’s Shelby Mustang GT500 Eleanor, like one in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds made by YatMing or Road Signature Series. Because of that this is one popular model and with a price of 20 Euros is nice to buy. It’s also good quality for money, not to mistaken it is hard to buy good model for 20 Euros, specially a new one. So I would recommend to anyone to buy second hand, especially if those are MIB (mint in box, not to be misunderstood as Man In Black).

Well, hello collectors, today a small chat about Brumm models and about their work under name Ferrari 312 from 1968 in 1/43 scale. First an introduction about the manufacturer Brumm, these are Italian models, by that I mean these models have sentence Made in Italy below them. This is Italian manufacturer from northern Italy, who wants to know a specific location could check it out on Wikipedia. The factory emerged from desire to create something like RIO models, and I think there is some family connection between those two, well what should be expected it is in Italy (This is a joke, not to be misunderstood). You are probably asking why I am not writing about a specific car, it’s because I don’t want to and because this was a car that wasn’t very successful.

Ferrari 500 F2, 1/43 Quartzo

After all it has to be said that this is one of the cars which is most successfull in Formula 1 championship, aldough this was Formula 2 car because that year world chapionship races were held as Formula 2 chapionship. This car has won two world title for Italian driver Alberto Ascari, which is behind the steringwheel of this model in 1/43 scale.

Ferrari 312T, 1/43 Quartzo

Model Ferrarija 312T.

Model of Ferrari 312T . This is first in line of "T" series in Ferrari F1 program. This car has won a championship in 1975. And was driven in few races in season 1976. Even in that season car has won three time. Niki Lauda won his first champion title, and all that is a proof of how this car was terrific on a racetrack. As far as I know this is a model of a car that Clay Ragazoni drove on GP USA West, with it he won the race. Although this isn’t a story about a car, but about a model, so lets start...
