After quite some time, new post on 143modell. This time I tried to compare three manufacturers of Ferrari F1 car, the famous 312b which Ferrari raced during the 1970 and 1971 season. I my opinion this could be one of the most beautiful Ferrari cars, if not of all time, than from that era for sure!
All three cars are cool models, but the true difference between the three actually is visible when comparing the HWE (#6) and Brumm (#12 and #6 open bonnet car) car. Ixo Altaya (#3) is the same car as HWE, but stripped of all details and additional items placed on model, like PE parts, fine printing, buckles, details on the body and rims, etc… Basically any detail that requires some time and effort to be placed on the model Altaya did not bother to have.
The most interesting car is definitely made by Brumm, especially Brumm limited edition, in this group of 3 (actually 4 models), Brumm is my favorite. It is packed with details, although a bit outdated as some details are not done like that anymore, but that can be also in some manner beneficial as the model has that “Made in Italy” feel J. The model with Ickx in the cock pit is so cool, plus you can move visor on helmet, which in 1/43 is awesome!
HWE is of course, a great model, quite heavy when compared to Brumm, it has a lot of nicely detailed plastic parts, a lot of PE parts, amazing paint (that paint with slightly bluish tone visible when illuminated with white light). When it comes to details on the body (casting details) the model could be better, but when you pack it with this many details, you don’t mind that much.
Ixo Altaya,
is almost the same model as HWE but stripped of all details, as I previously
mentioned. The paint is a bit different, there are no PE parts, plastic is OK,
but could be better. To be honest, Altaya is great value for money, but if I
could choose, I would rather go with HWE or Brumm and would skip Altaya…
